THE WARMTH OF RED

CONCEPT

This structure seeks  to recreate the feeling of being in the womb, abstracting the form and focusing more on the experience.

Humans have an affinity for womb-like spaces that provide comfort, warmth, and closeness, looking to imitate the most intimate moment we will ever have with another person. This shared experience is simultaneously an isolating and deeply unifying one, that is carried with us for the rest of our lives. The structure invites the viewer to navigate into the space, find their position, settle down, and acclimate to a new a sanctuary in red.

MATERIALS:
Base of chicken wire with  string lights woven into it,  fishing line used to hold the strucute in place, red plastic  table cloth  used as a  diffuser,  fabric draped over to create movement,  and  tulle used to  create  texture within the structure
